Why staying informed still matters
Recently, I've been thinking more about my former high school civics teacher. He was tough, gruff and pushed us to understand why being informed about your community and the world matter.
Let's face it, high school seniors are not always the most engaged students. But those lessons and his message have stayed with me. The two big takeaways: verify what you're being fed and knowledge is power.
It's why we do this work at Investigate Midwest — we investigate and verify so you're better informed and empowered. And now I'm reaching out because this summer is about connection — really hearing from the people who make this newsroom possible.
