Dear Friend of Investigate Midwest,
We are excited because today kicks off the 2024 NewsMatch campaign – our biggest fundraiser of the year.
American democracy is at the top of our minds this month with Election Day fast approaching. Here at Investigate Midwest, we see democracy and journalism as two sides of the same coin. If you care about one, it is imperative to care about the other.
Every day, our nonprofit newsroom seeks to inform and empower readers and to hold the powerful accountable.
Neither would be possible without the backing of community members like you.
Thank you for being an Investigate Midwest supporter, and for valuing independent journalism. If you are able to contribute — in the spirit of NewsMatch 2024, a collaborative movement that supports public-service reporting — we’d be grateful.
Here’s how it works: From now until Dec. 31, we have an opportunity to increase the impact of donations to Investigate Midwest, which will help power our newsroom into 2025.
NewsMatch will match one-time gifts or new monthly donations 12 times. Any donation up to $1,000 will be matched. We can earn, with your dollars plus these matching funds from NewsMatch, up to $30,000. In addition, the first $3,000 we raise will be matched dollar for dollar by the Rural Partner Fund.
If you’ve been thinking about becoming a financial supporter of Investigate Midwest, now is the best time to do it. Your support will get our NewsMatch campaign and fundraising for 2025 off to a solid start, and help keep our newsroom on strong footing.
Won't you join us in fueling our investigative journalism and multiply the impact of your donation?
Thank you for believing in journalism that strengthens our democracy.
With gratitude,
— Erin Orr, Executive Director
