Let's get to the heart of the matter: Is it important to you for us to continue investigating:
- Worker safety abuses in the agricultural industry?
- Calling out the dangerous misuse of pesticides?
- The contamination of groundwater when it happens?
#GivingNewsDay is going a few more hours and we need your support to continue digging into such topics as well as these goals for 2025:
- Continued coverage on meatpacking plant pollution, such as this story by John McCracken, who is in Wisconsin, and Mónica Cordero, our Report for America journalist located in Des Moines, Iowa. This piece took several months, analysis of thousands of pieces of data and a multi-day reporting trip to bring to fruition.
- Training student and early-career journalists in investigative and data reporting. This is critical to helping grow and support our country’s newsgathering ranks for a better informed society. A taste of what our summer interns learn and produce can be found here.
- Pushing for greater accountability from the corporate agribusiness giants, such as Tyson.
